God’s Character In Us

We develop Godly character as we internalize His attitudes, actions, and attributes into our life. Then we will have the moral excellence and firmness to do what is right. When we have Godly character, we will consistently do the right thing, at the right time, in the right way, for the right reason.

It does take time to develop Godly character because it requires more of all of the Fruit of the Spirit – faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, Godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. So it takes time to develop and we need patience. As these character traits grow within us, they help us to be a better ambassador for Christ. 

Character is developed through right choices in our day-to-day life. But our choices are partly influenced by our character, so good choices can lead to a virtuous cycle, becoming more Godly, but bad choices may lead to a destructive cycle toward more sin. We need to consciously make choices which develop our character. God will help us to make these good choices as we spend time with Him, yield to the Holy Spirit, and apply His Word in our life. Godly character takes time to develop!!
